History of InnoLab

Our Story

We believe that through creating and experimenting, provides opportunities for discovery. When we play and crate, it gives ourselves permission to discover new possibilities. It feeds our interest in continually coming upon something better. Therefore Innolab exists as a medium of incubating ideas, concepts or notions to transform them into something beneficial that has an integral part of growth and success. Innovesia as a corporate and start-up accelerator has extensive experiences in building the innovation ecosystem in Indonesia.

Innovesia has incubated and accelerated some corporate and community start-ups focusing on Industrial Revolution 4.0 Technologies such as 3D printing, Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data Analytics. Moreover, Innovesia is regarded as the pioneer of the maker and innovator movement in Indonesia.

The partnership between IPMI and Innovesia has been intertwined since October 2018, started by a joint cooperation in delivering the Executive Education program, with specific majors of Design Thinking and Business Model, to one of the biggest State-Owned Corporations. Since then, IPMI and Innovesia have delivered many Executive Education sessions to the Indonesian business leaders.

In the spirit of a good partnership into an increased joint cooperation, IPMI and Innovesia initiated a project to build and develop an Innovation Center and Incubator, which is called InnoLab. Its establishment aims to serve as a ‘Center of Excellence’ in developing capacity and competence of students, communities, SMEs & corporations, and government institutions to promote their innovations. The InnoLab mentors and officials themselves have been trained through the program “Training of Trainer for University Incubator” in Yogyakarta from 13 to 16 of August 2019. Ever since, further collaboration is regularly formulated by showcasing current works of both parties which is appreciated by the British Council.
